This a link to an Independent Study Course (6 hours) that covers much of the same course material covered in CERT basic training and contained in the CERT Basic Training Participant Manual. Although FEMA does NOT recognize this as a substitute for CERT basic training as there is no ‘hands-on’ training, it is a close substitute. Along with the videos contained herein, after passing the independent  study TEST, a student would be reasonably trained to assist during a disaster.
